Application of Cryogenic Blasting in Agriculture
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article discusses the prospects for using cryogenic blasting (cryoblasting) - a technology for cleaning surfaces from contaminants using a high-speed jet of dry ice granules in agricultural production. During cryoblasting, a jet of ultra-cold gas is directed at the surface to be cleaned, causing a sharp cooling of the material. Due to the temperature difference between the surface and the coating, thermal stress occurs, which leads to cracking or peeling of contaminants. This method is often used to remove old coatings, paint, rust, carbon deposits and other stubborn contaminants from various materials: metal, concrete, plastic and even glass. The advantages of cryogenic blasting are its environmental friendliness, high efficiency and the ability to work with delicate surfaces.
