Liver involvement in systemic AL amyloidosis

Abstract: The article presents a clinical case of late diagnosis of systemic AL amyloidosis. Severe hepatomegaly, cholestasis syndrome combined with progressive heart failure and nephrotic syndrome prompted the patient to be examined for systemic amyloidosis. This observation demonstrates the need for knowledge of gastroenterologic and systemic manifestations of amyloidosis, algorithms for diagnosing the disease in order to timely identify such patients, prescribe effective chemotherapy to increase the life expectancy of patients.
