Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in people with normal body weight

Abstract: The article presents a block of clinical recommendations for the management of patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and normal body weight. This problem is very relevant, since in real clinical practice this condition often remains unrecognized. At the same time, a sufficiently large number of studies have demonstrated that the risks of developing both unfavorable hepatic prognoses and extrahepatic ones, including the development of cardiovascular pathology and cancer, in patients with normal body weight are comparable to patients with overweight and/or obesity. The article proposes an algorithm for the diagnosis and management of patients with NAFLD and normal body weight, including those that are easily feasible in real clinical practice.
