Balancing Work and Turnover Intention: How Organisational Attachment Mediates Employee Exit Decisions in a Marine Affairs Government Agency
Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: This study investigates the mediating role of organisational attachment in the relationship between work-life balance and turnover intention among employees of the Marine and Fisheries Office of West Nusa Tenggara Province. Using a quantitative approach with PLS-SEM analysis and data from 75 respondents, the results reveal that work-life balance does not directly reduce turnover intention. However, it significantly enhances organisational attachment, negatively affecting turnover intention. These findings highlight the importance of fostering work - life balance as a strategic effort to strengthen employees’ emotional ties to the organisation and indirectly reduce their desire to leave. Strengthening organisational attachment is key to lowering turnover intention in the public sector.
