Abstract: This study explores the behaviour of retail investors in JSW Steel, distinguishing between investment and speculation. While 70% identify as long-term investors, many still engage in speculative practices due to factors like greed and limited financial literacy. Survey results and chi-square tests reveal a clear perception that speculation is riskier than investment. The study emphasizes the need for enhanced financial education and disciplined strategies to promote informed investing and reduce speculative risks in volatile sectors like steel.
