Abstract: In modern conditions, the issue of criminal law protection of the social (cultural and historical) memory of the people of Russia is becoming more and more urgent. However, the substantiation of social memory as an object of criminal law protection is not possible without an analysis of the norms of the regulatory legislation in force in this area. The article examines the content of the relevant legal acts and, based on the results of the study, draws conclusions about the relationship between regulatory and protective legal norms in the preservation, use and strengthening of social memory.
