Abstract: Nickel, ruthenium and heterobimetallic nickel–ruthenium complexes of an unsymmetrical dinucleating PNNNN ligand are presented. Nickel selectively binds in the PNN pincer pocket while ruthenium displays selectivity for the bidentate NN site.
