Abstract: Connec琀椀on of the publica琀椀on with planned research works. This work was carried out in accordance with the plan of the research work of the Department of Ophthalmology of the Bogomolets Na琀椀onal Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine "Improvement of diagnos琀椀cs and treatment of re琀椀nal and op琀椀c nerve pathology of vascular, trauma琀椀c and endocrine genesis" (state registra琀椀on number 0120U100810). Introduc琀椀on.Myopia is one of the leading health care problems in the world [1].According to the European Society of Ophthalmology, the prevalence of myopia is predicted to reach 50-56% in Eastern and Western Europe and 65% in Asia by 2050.Over the past decades, the prevalence of myopia in Europe has reached 45-50% in people aged 25-29 [1].Myopia is a health care problem due to its impact on the quality of life [2] and social func琀椀oning [3] of young people, and the risk of myopic maculopathy and op琀椀c neuropathy in eyes with high myopia [4], cataracts, glaucoma and re琀椀nal detachment [5], which can lead to signi昀椀cant visual impairment.Currently, there is no safe threshold level of myopia, and even mild to moderate myopia can lead to life-threatening complica琀椀ons [6].The problem of adherence to treatment is mul琀椀factorial, as it is in昀氀uenced by many factors [7], but to date there are no randomized trials on this issue [8].Several studies have shown that good adherence to treatment leads to improved clinical outcomes [9,10].Longer dura-琀椀on of so昀琀 contact lens wear is associated with greater e昀케cacy in controlling myopia [9], and good compliance is associated with improved visual acuity with orthokeratology treatment [10].Despite the proven e昀昀ec琀椀veness of atropine [11], so昀琀 contact lenses for myopia control [12], and orthokeratology [13,14], the problem of adherence to treatment is s琀椀ll far from being fully understood.A study by Jun J. et al., 2018, showed that full compliance with orthokeratology treatment, including wearing, care, and follow-up visits, was only 14.1% [13].Longer treatment dura琀椀on, lower ascending myopia, lower high-contrast visual acuity, side e昀昀ects, and ocular discomfort are as-ORCID and contribu琀椀onship / ORCID кожного автора та його внесок до статті:
