Abstract: Connec琀椀on of the publica琀椀on with planned research works. This publica琀椀on is part of the research work of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Internal Medicine of Kharkiv Na琀椀onal Medical University "To determine the characteris琀椀cs of immunocytokine imbalance in comorbid pa琀椀ents with arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular and renal compli-ca琀椀ons" (state registra琀椀on number 0123U101711).Introduc琀椀on.An increasing body of scien琀椀昀椀c evidence suggests a close rela琀椀onship between 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) insu昀케ciency and de昀椀ciency and key pathways involved in metabolic disorders.Vitamin D not only ful昀椀ls its classical func琀椀ons in regula琀椀ng calcium and phosphorus metabolism but also plays an ac琀椀ve role in maintaining immune homeostasis, modula琀椀ng cytokine expression, reducing chronic in昀氀amma琀椀on, ensuring peripheral 琀椀ssue sensi琀椀vity to insulin, and suppor琀椀ng the normal func琀椀oning of pancrea琀椀c β-cells [1,2].Reduced vitamin D levels are associated with elevated concentra琀椀ons of pro-in昀氀ammatory markers, ac-琀椀va琀椀on of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), reduced bioavailability of nitric oxide, increased parathyroid hormone levels, vascular calci昀椀ca琀椀on, and the development of diastolic dysfunc琀椀on.All of these mechanisms contribute to the development of insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, arterial hypertension (AH), and obesity (OB) -condi琀椀ons that o昀琀en share a common pathogene琀椀c basis [2][3][4].Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), as a chronic metabolic condi琀椀on, is closely associated with insulin resistance, dyslipidaemia, chronic in昀氀amma琀椀on, and visceral obesity [5,6].It has been established that pa琀椀ents with T2DM o昀琀en exhibit lower vitamin D levels, which correlate with disease severity, poorer glycaemic control, an increased risk of cardiovascular complica琀椀ons, and ORCID and contribu琀椀onship / ORCID кожного автора та його внесок до статті: Dunaieva I.
