Increased adiposity impairs vascular function in postmenopausal women in hemodialysis
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study highlights the negative effects of increased body fat on vascular function in postmenopausal women with CKD undergoing hemodialysis. Also, it emphasizes how excess adiposity exacerbates vascular complications and shows that patients who contracted COVID-19 experienced further deterioration in vascular function. These findings underscore the importance of weight management as a crucial intervention for improving vascular health, particularly in women on hemodialysis, to enhance cardiovascular outcomes in this vulnerable population.
