Abstract: Dear Readers, I am delighted to bring to you the April–June issue of IJPM. I begin by mentioning the value of published research in shaping the academic career of a pathologist, including establishing academic credibility, helping him/her in developing domain expertise, and embarking on sharing the knowledge through presentations. That is seemingly an ideal way of scientific expression and dissemination of knowledge in an endeavor toward improved patient care. Accordingly, it is worthwhile pursuing more original research, which is helpful in a more conceptual understanding and finally enhancing the scientific mind. This issue comprises a variety of original articles followed by brief communication, images, case reports, and letters to the editor. In the original article, Chen and colleagues have shown the correlation between mismatch protein defects and various clinicopathological parameters in patients with colorectal carcinoma.[1] Walia et al. observed a correlation between vasculogenic mimicry marker expression and aggressiveness of colorectal carcinoma.[2] In another study, Rani et al. explored the potential of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) overexpression as another prognostic parameter in oral squamous cell carcinoma.[3] LV et al. have demonstrated the potential of urine as a better sample than blood for the detection of renal interstitial fibrosis (RIF) exomiRNA.[4] In another study, Trivedi et al. have shown the value of stem cell markers, ABCG2, podoplanin, and CD44 for predicting early recurrence in oral squamous cell carcinoma.[5] Kahraman–Cetin have suggested that somatic NF1 mutations and comutations could play a critical driving force in metastatic lung adenocarcinoma and might contribute to treatment resistance.[6] Zhou et al. have demonstrated the potential of nucleolar spindleassociated protein 1 (NUSAP1) as a prognostic biomarker of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.[7] Besides original articles, there is an interesting brief communication, several case reports, and letters to the editor. Kindly submit/continue submitting your best original research for publication to IJPM. I would request the authors to carefully read the scope of the journal before making a submission in order to avoid rejection. A careful attention toward the instructions to authors while preparing a manuscript can reduce the turnaround time of publication of a manuscript. Kindly share your constructive feedback with us. Happy reading and best wishes.
