Empirical Study on the Effectiveness of Intelligent Teaching Devices in Vocational Undergraduate English Education

Abstract: With the in-depth application of modern educational technologies in higher education, intelligent teaching tools are increasingly becoming the key factor in promoting the innovation of English education. Especially in vocational undergraduate education, given the widespread problem of weak oral skills among non-native students, the application of intelligent teaching tools is particularly urgent. Many learners lack an immersive English environment, coupled with traditional teaching emphasizing reading and writing training, resulting in oral English becoming a weak point for many students. To solve this problem, this article analyzes the potential of intelligent teaching tools in enhancing the effectiveness of vocational undergraduate English teaching and creatively designs an artificial intelligence (AI) based English oral automatic scoring system. This system utilizes cutting-edge algorithm models to accurately evaluate students' oral performance, overcoming the subjectivity and inefficiency of traditional evaluation methods while significantly accelerating the improvement of oral skills. Experimental results confirm that the system can accurately measure students' oral proficiency and provide real-time and objective feedback for both teachers and students.
