Abstract: This study discusses the application effect and potential of VR (Virtual Reality) technology in 3D animation production and verifies the advantages of this animation production method through comparative experiments. This work selected several typical animation scenes made using traditional methods and VR, respectively, and analyzed the production time, cost, animation quality, as well as user satisfaction in detail. The results show that VR significantly improves production efficiency, shortens the production cycle, and substantially enhances animation works' realism and visual impact. The user satisfaction survey also shows that the audience highly praised the animation works made by VR (above 0.9 points). They think it is excellent in immersion, interactivity and creative expression. From this, this article concludes that the interactivity of VR greatly stimulates the creative inspiration of animators and brings new possibilities for animation production. Furthermore, VR has obvious advantages and broad application prospects in 3D animation production.
