Improvement of the Technology of Steel Tape Contact Welding

Abstract: The use of the technological process of restoration of agricultural machinery parts by contact welding of steel strips is slowed down by its significant drawback. Due to high rigidity, such an additive is almost not plastically deformed by the force of the roller electrode and for this reason it is poorly welded to the part in the solid phase. It is especially difficult to weld strips made of alloyed and heat-resistant steels that retain elastic properties at high temperatures. A method for electric contact welding of steel strips is proposed (RU Patent No. 2820292), in which an easily deformable screw structural element is preliminarily made on the shaft surface to be restored. The problem of plastic deformation of a screw profile of a sinusoidal crosssection is analytically solved. The results of the study can be used in agricultural repair production.
