Examination of the effects of kanji use status on comprehension and reading time in explanatory text

Abstract: 日本語文章の読みやすさに漢字の使用は大きな影響を与えている．本研究では、文中で漢字した箇所と読了時間、理解度の関係について検討した．具体的には説明的文章において、品詞，及び文章構造に着目した漢字使用の効果検証を探索的に行った．結果，品詞別の漢字使用は効果がなく、主語・述語を漢字化したうえで8文字以上かなが続く場合に適宜、漢字化すると良い効果が得られることが示唆された．
