Abstract: In this article the author analyses particular techniques of assisted reproduction technologies which are received differently in various legislation. The primary issues addressed in this article include regulation of posthumous fertilisation, egg donation, legal status of the so-called spare (surplus) embryos and genetic material in Serbian law and comparatively in European countries. These issues are examined in light of relevant court practices, both international and domestic, including recent cases of posthumous fertilisation in Serbia.
