Abstract: Efficient chloride/iodide exchange on chloro-NHC-metal complexes was achieved under mild conditions using stable or radioactive iodide. The protocol enables simultaneous synthesis of radiolabeled compounds and their non-radioactive references, facilitating the development of chemically matched theranostic pairs.
