Translator’s Ability in the Information Age—Analysis of Machine Translation Errors Based on Scientific and Technological Texts

Abstract: 随着科技的迅速发展，市场上涌现出众多机器翻译软件及平台，比如有道翻译词典、豆包、还有近期火热的DeepSeek软件，翻译行业迎来了新的机遇。机器翻译对于提升翻译效率节约翻译成本具有极其大的优势，但是仍然存在一定的局限性。所以需要更加优质的译后编辑。文章通过分析科技产品手册即科技类文本的机翻译文以及典型的术语翻译及句法翻译错误案例和译后编辑的译文，来对基于信息化时代译者需具备的能力进行补充。With the rapid development of science and technology, many machine translation software and platforms have emerged in the market, such as Youdao Translation Dictionary, Doubao, and the recently popular DeepSeek software, and the translation industry has ushered in new opportunities. Machine translation has great advantages in improving translation efficiency and saving translation costs, but it still has certain limitations. Therefore, better post-editing is needed. This article supplements the capabilities that translators need to have in the information age by analyzing the machine translation of technology product manuals, i.e. technology texts, as well as typical terminology translation and syntactic translation error cases and post-editing translations.
