Abstract: The study of Iran's history is a crucial field from the perspective of Iranian studies and the study of the Islamic Republic of Iran, considering Iran's rich cultural heritage, complex political history, and its significant impact on global civilization. The effective teaching of this subject requires the selection of a comprehensive methodological framework that will address various dimensions of Iran's history, promote critical thinking, and engage students in the course through the use of various pedagogical techniques. Iran's history, with its millennia-long cultural, political, and social developments, makes a unique contribution to world history. Therefore, teaching this subject demands a deep understanding of its historical events and the application of appropriate methods to ensure effective student engagement in the course. The methodology for teaching the history of Iran should reflect its broad chronological scope, the diversity of historical events, and the cultural, social, economic, and political characteristics embedded within this history. Within the course, emphasis is placed on the main structural and thematic analysis. In addition, the collection of factual data about events is not enough; it is also crucial to study the underlying causes of these events. In this context, it is essential to understand and comprehend the continuity and change of political processes—how historical patterns repeat or evolve. Given that contemporary Iranian history reflects both external dominance and internal conflicts, special attention is paid within the course to the interaction between internal and external forces in shaping Iran's political life and historical trajectory. The thematic content and methodology for teaching this subject have been developed by the lecturer of the Department of Iranian Studies of Yerevan State University and are based on both theoretical and practical work conducted in the classroom, implementing teaching with new perspectives, approaches, and proposing new solutions to emerging challenges.
