Abstract: Psychological assessment plays a crucial role in guidance and counseling by helping counselors objectively understand the psychological condition of their clients. This article discusses the strategic role of assessment in the identification, monitoring, and evaluation of the counseling process, as well as outlining commonly used types of assessment. It emphasizes the importance of conducting assessments ethically, professionally, and in accordance with the client’s cultural context. The analysis shows that appropriate assessment enhances the effectiveness of interventions and supports the psychological development of the client.
