Boosting a Learning Process With Browser Games
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article presents a comprehensive framework for leveraging the open-source Godot Engine to develop browser-based educational games. By harnessing Godot’s dual scripting options, modular node-based architecture, and cross-platform capabilities, we demonstrate how educators and developers can create interactive, accessible, and engaging learning environments. Our approach emphasizes experiential learning, enabling students to enhance IT literacy, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills through real-time experimentation and feedback. Detailed case studies—including a physics simulation game and a narrative-driven historical adventure—illustrate the development process and its positive impact on student engagement and academic performance. The findings suggest that integrating game-based learning via the Godot Engine not only transforms traditional educational paradigms but also offers a scalable solution to meet the diverse technological needs of modern classrooms.
