Сквозь тусклое стекло свет Просвещения / Through a glass darkly the light of Enlightenment

Abstract: Currently, the human field of vision along the vertical axis is limited between reference points: phone and tablet displays, TV screens and stock exchange boards with currency and securities quotes. Probably, a person intuitively feels the need to go beyond this narrow focus, feels the loss of connection with something greater, "higher", but is afraid to encounter it - be it God, the spiritual world, the supernatural forces of the Universe. After all, the "higher" is "knowledgeable" about what is happening on Earth, but a person prefers to remain in the comfort zone, avoiding difficult questions for himself and deep reflection, understanding that "he who goes to himself risks meeting himself," as warned by C.G. Jung. The beginning of the trend towards narrowing the "field of vision" of a person, one must assume, can be attributed to the period of the formation of the intellectual movement in the history of European culture - the Age of Enlightenment. The formation of a new "optical system" of a person, tuned to the horizontal plane, has caused an aberration of his picture of the world, and, consequently, the loss of the ability to see the canvas of the Universe in its entirety, including the spiritual and sacred dimensions of his existence. In the conditions of a rapid growth of unpredictable events ("black swans"), an increase in the frequency of emergent phenomena in the world, the risk of technological singularity and the impossibility of reliably predicting the future of humanity even in the near future, the author of the article considers it advisable to develop and introduce into the educational process a discipline (not a course) devoted to understanding life in conditions of permanent uncertainty, studying its new image, facilitating adaptation to it. "Black swans" and emergent events are manifestations of the fundamental laws of complex systems and chaos that underlie the universe. From a philosophical point of view, they remind us of the fragility of human history, the limits of control and the cyclicality of existence. These ideas call us to humility, wisdom, and the search for new paths of development that take into account the unpredictability of the world and its deep connection with the original state of creation. And, what the author considers important, modern education should try to draw the attention of the younger generation to the "axis of applicate" in the coordinate system of being-in-the-world - the vertical dimension that gives being in the world depth and height.
