The article notes that in today's world, disinformation has become one of the most serious challenges for states, international organisations and society as a whole. The rapid development of information technology, in particular social media and digital platforms, has greatly simplified the spread of manipulative content. It has been shown that disinformation is used as a tool of information warfare, political influence, economic pressure and social destabilisation. This poses serious threats to national security, political stability and democratic processes. It is established that in response to these challenges, different countries of the world are developing their own approaches to administrative and legal support for countering disinformation. In particular, European countries are actively implementing regulations aimed at regulating the activities of digital platforms, combating fake news and increasing the level of media literacy of the population. At the same time, despite the considerable attention paid to the problem of disinformation, the effectiveness of administrative and legal measures in different countries remains ambiguous. The main difficulties include the balance between combating manipulation and protecting freedom of speech, the lack of universal standards and mechanisms for identifying disinformation, and the need for international cooperation in this area.It is concluded that the most effective approach to combating disinformation includes a combination of administrative and legal measures, self-regulation of media platforms, raising the level of media literacy of the population, and the use of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, to identify false content.Studying international experience will further help identify the best ways to improve national strategies for countering disinformation and increase the effectiveness of administrative and legal regulation in this area.
