Research Hotspots and Trends of New-Type Productive Forces in China—A Visual Analysis Based on CiteSpace

Year: 2025
Type: article
As a pivotal engine for China’s high-quality economic development, new-type productive forces are the focus of this study. Leveraging CiteSpace software, this research conducts a visual analysis of the literature pertaining to new-type productive forces published in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database between 2023 and 2025. The primary objective is to reveal current research hotspots, evolutionary trajectories, and prospective trends within this field in China. Findings indicate that contemporary research interests predominantly revolve around three dimensions: technology-driven, institution-adapted, and industry-practiced. These dimensions specifically concentrate on keywords such as technological innovation, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, data factors, and the integration of industry and education. An analysis of the co-occurrence network of research institutions demonstrates that research efforts are concentrated within university think tanks and engineering colleges, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Renmin University of China, and Nanjing University, reflecting interdisciplinary integration. Future research should emphasize strategic synergistic mechanisms and foster the development of a “technology-institution co-evolution” theory. By employing knowledge mapping techniques, this study provides a valuable reference for both academic research and policy formulation. Furthermore, it offers useful insights for deepening understanding and grasping the development patterns of new-type productive forces, thereby facilitating China’s economic transformation and upgrading.
