Analysis of the effect of regional economic digitalization on the development of cross-border e-commerce in agriculture

Abstract: This paper measures the level of the development of digital economy in three cities in western region of Guangdong in the past ten years through the panel data model, and verifies the impact of regional economic digital development on promoting the digital development of agriculture and the growth of cross-border e-commerce exports of agricultural products. The results show that the regional digital economy has a positive role in promoting the digital development of local agriculture and the growth of cross-border e-commerce exports of agricultural products, and the analysis of the indirect effects of promoting the development of foreign trade shows that the development of regional economic digitalization mainly helps to enhance the innovation capacity of cities, accelerate the upgrading of local industries and the diversification of industries, and develop a spiral complementary development effect. Further analysis has found that the difference in the degree and growth rate of digital development of the intercity economy is obvious, and the more significant the spillover effect of cities with a higher degree of economic digitalization on the development of modern agriculture digitalization, the more significant the effect on the extrusion of traditional agricultural technologies. Accordingly, infrastructure construction conducive to the development of agricultural digitalization should be actively promoted in the regional industry, policies conducive to the enhancement of local cross-border e-commerce exports of agricultural products should be actively introduced and implemented, and the constraints imposed by policies on agricultural technology should be vigorously emancipated through the demonstration of the policy-led market, so as to promote the upgrading of cross-border e-commerce exports of agricultural products in the region to increase the efficiency of the region and promote the regional agricultural economic development.
