The Impact of Big Data Analytics Capabilities on Innovation Performance in the Petrochemical Industry: A case study of Guangxi Sinopec
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Taking Sinopec Guangxi as an example, this paper studies the impact of Big Data Analytics Capabilities on the innovation performance of the petrochemical industry, focusing on the role of big data technology in the digital transformation of enterprises. The study introduces Ambidextrous Capability (exploration capabilities and utilization capabilities) as mediating variables, constructs a theoretical model and conducts empirical analysis. The sample size was determined by using the Yamane Taro sampling formula, and data were collected using the online questionnaire survey method, and 480 valid questionnaires were finally collected. Data analysis used multiple regression analysis and Bootstrap method to test the mediating effect. The results show that Big Data Analytics Capabilities have a significant positive impact on innovation performance (hypothesis H1 is established), and indirectly promote the improvement of innovation performance by improving Ambidextrous Capability (hypotheses H2 and H3 are established). This study reveals the key role of big data technology in optimizing the production process of the petrochemical industry, improving decision-making efficiency and reducing operating costs, and provides theoretical support and practical guidance for the digital transformation of the industry.
