Abstract: AIEd is an emerging field that applies AI technology in education to improve teaching and learning. AI Applications in STEM Education is a sub-branch of AIEd that focuses on the design and implementation of AI applications to support STEM education. AI technologies such as smart tutoring, automated assessment, data mining, and learning analytics have been used in STEM education to provide adaptive and personalized learning environments. However, STEM education is a complex system composed of interdependent elements, including subjects, information, media, and environment. To gain a holistic understanding of the integration of AI technologies, it is crucial to review and examine the complex elements in AI-STEM from a system perspective. STEM education aims to develop students' creative thinking and interdisciplinary abilities to solve human problems, while AI aims to work with computers to automate parts of the problem-solving process. The benefits of AI techniques have been gradually used to improve lives of people with special educational needs. The field of Special Educational Needs (SEN) covers many difficulties that can cause problems during the learning process. This article's methodology is a narrative literature review; to find research and literature on the integration of AI in science learning in special education, a thorough search of scholarly databases, journals, and other sources was carried out. Through a thorough analysis of the literature, the purpose of this paper is to examine how AI technology can be integrated into special education settings to support primary scientific education. The possible advantages of AI in enhancing student engagement, offering tailored instruction, and supporting inclusive teaching methods will also be examined in this paper.
