Abstract: 随着中国在全球经济体地位的提升和国际声誉度的提高，中国迎来了对外发展带来的更多机遇，同时也意味着面临高速发展的更多的挑战。英语迄今为止仍作为世界第一通用语言，其在经济贸易中的应用越来越全球化，自然也成为中外友好合作的有效桥梁。本文主要探讨了经济全球化背景下中国高校英语教学的重要意义及现状，以及面对英语的实际应用从而探讨出大学英语教学的相关策略。With the rise of China’s status in the global economy and the improvement of its international reputation, China has ushered in more opportunities for its external development, but it also means facing more challenges in its rapid development. English, as the world’s most widely used language to date, is becoming increasingly globalized in economic and trade applications, and naturally has become an effective bridge for friendly cooperation between China and foreign countries. This article mainly explores the significance and current situation of English teaching in Chinese colleges under the background of the economic globalization, as well as the relevant strategies for university English teaching in response to the practical application of English.
