Mitochondrial Injury and Function Comparing Hypothermic and Normothermic Machine Perfusion of Human Livers
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Purpose: Normothermic Machine Perfusion (NMP) is increasingly used for clinical liver transplantation in the US. In contrast, FDA-approval for hypothermic-oxygenated perfusion (HOPE) is currently awaited while in routine use in Europe. This study compares mitochondrial function and downstream reperfusion injury in human livers undergoing HOPE or NMP.
