Cryopreservation of Nonhuman Primate Skin for Transplantation

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Purpose: Skin transplantation is often used in non-human primate (NHP) transplant research for sensitization and investigating donor-specific tolerance. However, the availability of donor animals is constrained after organ donation. In this study, we address this limitation by cryopreserving skin patches with freezing medium in liquid nitrogen for 1 month, followed by autologous skin transplantation.
