147 as a Novel Therapeutic Agent to Ameliorate Liver Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury via Protective Effects on Hepatocytes and Macrophages

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Purpose: The development of practical drugs to suppress ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) in liver transplantation (LT) is urgently needed. J147 is an analog of curcumin, a compound found in turmeric, but synthesized with better stability/bioavailability. It is being developed as a potential drug for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Since a recent study reported its beneficial effect on ischemic stroke in a rat cerebral infarction model, we investigated the potential effect of J147 pretreatment on an LT-related IRI in mice.
