Stanford Integrated Psychosocial Assessment for Transplant as a Predictor for Kidney Transplant Rejection
Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Purpose: The Stanford Integrated Psychosocial Assessment for Transplantation (SIPAT) is a standardized tool used for psychosocial and behavioral evaluation for transplant candidates. While SIPAT score has been associated with non-adherent behavior, history of substance abuse, and psychiatric concerns in kidney transplant recipients (KTR), the score association with acute kidney allograft rejection is unclear, particularly among minimally acceptable KTR (SIPAT score <40). We aim to examine the association between SIPAT scores and acute allograft rejection in KTR with low pre-transplant psychosocial and behavioral risks.
