Rapid Hepatic Defatting for Transplant by Knocking Down tPA Using Lipid Nanoparticles

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Purpose: Liver transplant is the sole curative treatment for end-stage liver disease. However, the demand for liver transplants exceeds the available organs, which results in a substantial waiting list and high mortality rates. Marginal grafts are currently underutilized due to the risk of graft failure from ischemia-reperfusion injury. Strategies capable of modifying marginal livers to improve their viability for transplant have potential to significantly mitigate organ shortages.
