Observations from the First Series of Human Intestine Graft Normothermic Machine Preservation
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Purpose: Normothermic machine preservation (NMP) is becoming standard of care in reperfusion-sensitive DCD hearts and livers. Cold-stored Intestines undergo severe reperfusion injury leading to sepsis and rejection, yet there is currently no intestine NMP device. This study translates the world-first transplant-validated porcine intestine NMP to improve human intestines preservation.
