Abstract: The founding aim of the journalIslamic Literature is to determine the theoretical basis of Islamic literature and to publish works in this field. The theoretical framework of this aim was tried to be drawn both through the articles in the magazine and interviews. In the magazine, poets, novelists, academicians, publishers and scholars of the period were asked questions about the possibility of Islamic literature and the definition of this literature. Launched in 1988, the magazine continues to be published today despite various breaks. In this study, the articles titled questionnaires, investigations, interviews and conversations in 26 issues published until 1994, the first break in the publication of the magazine, were analyzed. Based on the interviews in these issues in which the concept of Islamic literature was questioned, the theoretical basis of this concept was tried to be analyzed. After introducing the main outlines of theIslamic Literature magazine, the texts in the form of surveys and interviews conducted to investigate the concept in question are analyzed. It has been observed that studies on this concept in the journal Islamic Literature have focused on two main issues. The first is the views of those who do not accept the concept of Islamic literature. They rather argue that literature should not be divided, limited and localised. Those who defend the existence of Islamic literature define it as literature that defends the Muslim perspective, does not contradict Islamic elements and narrates the history, teachings and ethics of Islam. In its first period, the journal Islamic Literature tried to answer the question "Is Islamic literature possible?" through surveys and interviews, and tried to build the theoretical basis of the literary understanding it defended by including different opinions.
