Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to unprecedented challenges in health service delivery globally, with maternal health services in Africa being particularly affected. This paper explores the multifaceted impacts of the pandemic on maternal health services across the African continent, discusses the barriers faced by health systems, and highlights the adaptations undertaken by healthcare providers. The findings suggest negative implications on maternal health outcomes, exacerbation of existing inequalities, and the necessity for resilient health systems in the face of future pandemics.
