Abstract: The article presents the epistemological and theoretical foundations, postulates and hypotheses of a unified semantic approach to verbal (inter)action, complementary to those proposed by the founding philosophers of speech act theory and verbal interaction analysts in linguistic pragmatics. This approach establishes a conceptual bridge between the conceptualization of illocutionary forces and their lexicalization through verbal naming and designations in different languages and cultures, and their linguistic realizations. It proposes a robust explanatory principle for the functioning of linguistic meaning in and through speech acts.
