"Biomechanical analysis of knee joint movement in Tai Chi "White Crane Bright Wings" move based on dynamic capture and AnyBody"
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: To analyze the biomechanical characteristics of lower limb movements in the "White Crane Brightening Wings" technique of Tai Chi, and provide scientific guidance for Tai Chi practice. A 20-year-old female athlete was recruited for Tai Chi training for more than 3 years. Information was collected using a 3D motion capture system, and changes in knee angle (KA), knee joint reaction force (medial lateral force, vertical force, and anterior posterior force), and knee flexion moment (KFM) were simulated using Anybody7.4 simulation software. The knee joint showed a significant increase in flexion angle and a noticeable change in angle during the stance stage, and the force distribution in all directions of the knee joint also increased significantly. During the transition phase, the knee joint angle remains stable and tends to flatten out. During the fixed position phase, the knee joint gradually extends and the angle tends to stabilize. The angle, flexion torque, and joint reaction force of the left knee joint first reach their peak in the "White Crane Brightening Wings" move of Tai Chi, and then the right knee joint gradually transforms into a powered leg. The angle, flexion torque, and joint reaction force of the right knee joint also gradually reach their peak.
