Abstract: The current paper deals with the propagation mechanisms at edge-line parity time-reversal duality (PTD) symmetric parallel-plate waveguides focusing on obtaining a simplification form for the exact solution.Through this research, the complicated characteristic equations obtained in our previous work [1] are solved for the dominant mode on the basis of factorization techniques.Although the formulation was carried out in [1], this challenge was not confronted therein.Furthermore, a modified mode matching technique is suggested to address alternatively the solution.The adopted formulation enables the physical interpretation of the modes through a simplified form of the characteristic equation.
