Type: article
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the impact of the mining company PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) on the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the community in Lelilef Village, Central Weda District, Central Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province. The research employs both quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods, with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that IWIP's presence has brought positive impacts such as increased employment opportunities, local economic growth, infrastructure development, and improved access to healthcare and education services. IWIP's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs have supported local farmers, road construction, and environmental conservation through mangrove planting and the preservation of endemic flora and fauna. However, negative impacts have also been experienced by the community, including air pollution, increased health issues, ecosystem damage, and flooding due to changes in river flow and the conversion of agricultural land. Cross-tabulation results show that most respondents acknowledged economic improvements but also expressed concerns about environmental degradation and social changes. This study concludes that the presence of the company requires continuous evaluation to ensure that industrial development remains aligned with environmental protection and the well-being of the local community
