AI-Based Anomaly Detection for Real-Time Cyber security System

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: In the rapidly evolving landscape of cybersecurity, traditional threat detection methods are increasingly inadequate against sophisticated cyber-attacks.AI-based anomaly detection offers a promising solution by leveraging advanced machine learning algorithms to identify deviations from normal behavior within network traffic and system operations. This proactive approach significantly enhances the ability to detect novel and subtle threats that signature-based systems often miss. This paper explores the implementation of AI-driven anomaly detection systems, focusing on their architecture, algorithms, and real-time effectiveness.Key components include data preprocessing, feature extraction, and the application of machine learning techniques such as neural networks, support vector machines, and clustering algorithms. The integration of real-time data streams and unsupervised learning methods enables the detection of zero-day attacks and insider threats without prior knowledge of attack signatures.Through case studies and experimental analysis, we demonstrate the high precision and recall rates of these systems, alongside their reduced false-positive rates compared to traditional methods. We also address key challenges such as large dataset requirements, computational overhead, and susceptibility to adversarial attacks, proposing mitigation strategies. The paper concludes with an exploration of future trends, including the integration of AI with blockchain and quantum computing to further enhance cybersecurity. This research highlights the critical role of AI in developing adaptive, scalable, and intelligent cybersecurity solutions capable of addressing the growing spectrum of cyber threats.
