Abstract: In this issue of Blood, Annesley et al demonstrate durable leukemia-free remissions after SCRI-CAR19 (autologous CD19.4-1BB chimeric antigen receptor T cell) in a multicenter phase 2 trial, with particularly striking results in patients with low disease burden.The authors also show that a novel approach to boost CD19 antigen can improve chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) activity in those predicted to have short persistence.1
