The objective of this study is to assess whether various sociodemographic variables, healthy habits, and stress are associated with increased body fat (BF) and visceral fat (VF) levels.Methodology. This cross-sectional, descriptive study of 24,244 workers evaluates the association of age, gender, type of work, tobacco and alcohol use, physical exercise, adherence to the Mediterranean diet, and stress with BF and VF levels. Results. All variables were found to be associated with BF and VF levels, with gender, age, typeof work, physical activity, and stress showing particularly strong associations. Conclusions. The profile of individuals at higher risk for elevated BF and VF levels includes older males engaged in manual labor, smokers, regular alcohol consumers, those withsedentary lifestyles, low adherence to the Mediterranean diet, and high levels of stress.
