Abstract: This protocol is designed for extracting DNA from individual wasp larvae for metabarcoding to detect and identify their trophic interactions. The reagents and methods proposed offer a cost effective and high-throughput method for molecular analyses of individual wasp larvae using specialised lab equipment, with standard alternatives signposted throughout. Where specialist equipment is used, attempts are made to suggest low-cost alternatives.
