Review of the Current State and Development of Smart Cities

Abstract: The article presents the results of the study conducted by the author in the field of formation and implementation of projects of the Smart Cities Program in the Russian Federation and the world at present, which are key in the long-term development of urban systems. The innovative development of the state, its future in the modern conditions of globalization depend on their implementation. These programs are aimed at ensuring a breakthrough scientific, technological and socio-economic development of cities and states, raising the standard of living, creating conditions and opportunities for self-realization and revealing the talent of each person. The author analyzed the experience of implementing projects to create Smart cities, considered the technologies through which their concept is realized. The work identifies the key technologies used in the creation of Smart cities. The problems arising at this stage are identified. Proposals for solving these problems are given.
