Cavitation induced shear wave elastography
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: In cavitation induced shear wave elastography (CSWE), the stiffness of transparent soft matter can be imaged in the sub-millimeter scale through cavitation events. The shear wave is emitted by a laser-generated cavitation bubble expanding and collapsing close to a rigid boundary. The speed of shear wave is governed by the stiffness of the material. The propagation of the shear wave is recorded through photoelastic high-speed imaging, and the elastic modulus is then obtained through a local phase-velocity-based method.
