Intervenções sobre Estratégias de Mediação de Tecnologia para Pais de Crianças Pré-Escolares: Revisão Integrativa de Literatura
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The increased use of digital technologies by children has raised concerns in diff erent sectors of society. Studies suggest that parental mediation can mitigate negative eff ects, making it crucial to prepare parents for this role. The aim of this study was to identify the characteristics and eff ects of interventions targeted at parents of preschool children to promote digital technology mediation. An integrative literature review was conducted using empirical articles extracted from the SciELO, Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed and PsycINFO databases on interventions with parents of children aged 0-6 years. Of the 506 studies found, 10 were analyzed. The strategies were classifi ed into two categories: “Strategies used by researchers” (e.g., providing support materials, expository instruction, support/counseling, group activity) and “Mediation strategies taught to parents” (e.g., setting rules to reduce screen time, including alternative activities, shared reading, prohibiting meals in front of the TV, removing electronics from children’s bedrooms). Based on these results, it was possible to conclude that the strategies taught to parents mainly aim at reducing screen time and that the strategies used by researchers tend to be applied in a combined manner.
