Abstract: Strategic planning in the non-profit sector begins with a clear and intentional preparation phase. This paper examines foundational steps that set the stage for effective strategic thinking, including clarifying organizational purpose, assessing readiness, and engaging stakeholders early in the process. By establishing a strong preparatory framework, non-profits can align resources, expectations, and capacities to support meaningful and achievable long-term goals.
