Abstract: The article presents the results of the study of the theoretical foundations of ensuring economic security of the tourism and recreation sector. The essential characteristics and features of the basic concepts of the topic under study are identified and analyzed. A structural diagram of the essential characteristics and components of the tourism and recreation sector of the economy is formed and graphically presented. The elements of the structure of the subsystem of economic security of the tourism and recreation sector of the economy are substantiated. The classification of factors influencing the economic security of enterprises in the tourism and recreation sector is improved. The relationship between the elements of the economic security system and sustainable development of the tourism and recreation sector is determined
