Intelligent sports equipment service system under the Industry 5.0 paradigm: Flexible manufacturing based on IIoT and user participatory design
Year: 2025
Type: preprint
Abstract: Facing the surging personalized demands and the pressure of industrial upgrading in the global sports equipment manufacturing industry, the traditional manufacturing model is in urgent need of transformation due to its lack of flexibility and low efficiency in demand conversion. This paper focuses on the innovative integration of flexible manufacturing driven by the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and user participatory design (UPD), and constructs a technical system including intelligent sensing and interconnection, data integration, intelligent decision-making, and user collaboration. A four-layer architecture of ”perception layer - network layer - platform layer - application layer” is designed to achieve the monitoring of the production equipment status, the capture of user sports demands, and the allocation of production resources. Core technologies for the user participation module are developed, a closed-loop path is constructed, and a multi-dimensional evaluation framework is proposed to demonstrate that the IIoT-enabled system can respond to personalized demands and promote the transformation of the production mode. The research shows that this model can shorten the iteration cycle of sports equipment, enhance the adaptability of the manufacturing system, and provide a replicable path for large-scale customization in the industry.
